Chapter 6 - A threshold of new beginning

As the first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, I slowly opened my eyes. Mira aunty was curled up on the couch in the corner of the room, still fast asleep.

A nurse entered quietly for the morning check-up. I quickly raised a finger to my lips, silently asking her not to wake Mira aunty. She nodded and proceeded gently, checking my vitals. Though I had made some progress over the past week, the pain in my stomach and arm lingered—understandable, given I’d fallen off a cliff.
